Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. BIM Modelling and Management
Develop and maintain accurate 3D BIM models for ACMV/HVAC systems in construction projects, including components such as air handling units, ductwork, piping, and associated equipment.
Update models to incorporate design changes and engineering solutions.
Coordinate and collaborate with other BIM engineers from various disciplines (structural, architectural, electrical, plumbing) to integrate all models and ensure compatibility.
Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts within the BIM environment to minimize construction issues.
Establish and maintain project-specific BIM standards, methods, and procedures, adhering to company protocols and local Singapore BIM guidelines.
Generate 2D drawings, schedules, and reports directly from BIM models for project documentation and construction purposes.
2. Design
Participate in the conceptualization and detailed design of ACMV/HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with local codes, standards, and best practices, including the Singapore Code of Practice (CP13), SS553, and the Fire Code.
Prepare design documents, including system layouts, schematics, and specifications.
While thermal load calculations and energy modeling are not yet implemented, you will be responsible for using design software and tools to perform these tasks as needed in future projects. System sizing will be carried out as part of the current design process.
Review and approve shop drawing submittals.
3. Coordination and Communication
Participate in design meetings, coordination workshops, and BIM coordination meetings.
Liaise with project managers, architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure the project design and execution plan are clearly understood.
Present BIM models to project teams, stakeholders, and clients to facilitate understanding and gather feedback.
4. Quality Assurance and Control
Ensure quality control of BIM models and design documentation, maintaining accuracy and consistency.
Validate model-based project deliverables for compliance with project standards and ensure the accuracy of all information.
5. Professional Development
Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in BIM and ACMV/HVAC technologies.
Engage in continuous learning to enhance your knowledge and expertise in design, construction, and BIM-related areas, with a career progression pathway aligned toward project management.
