Job Summary (General Nature / Objectives of the Job):
The E&M Drafter and Coordinator is responsible for creating detailed drawings of electrical and mechanical (E&M) systems, ensuring that designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and LTA regulations. They also coordinate between design teams, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure smooth integration and timely completion of E&M systems within transportation projects overseen by the Land Transport Authority (LTA).
Key Responsibilities and Activities:
Drafting Responsibilities:
• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings for electrical and mechanical systems (e.g., HVAC, lighting, power distribution).
• Update and revise drawings based on design changes, site conditions, or LTA requirements.
• Ensure all E&M drawings are in compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and LTA regulations.
• Maintain organized records of drawings and revisions for submission to the LTA or other
stakeholders.
Coordination Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and contractors to ensure the accuracy and integration of E&M drawings with other project disciplines (e.g., civil, structural, architectural).
• Assist in coordinating design submissions and ensuring timely approvals from LTA.
• Monitor design progress and communicate with the site team to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure that any discrepancies between designs and on-site conditions are addressed and incorporated into updated drawings.
• Liaise with external stakeholders to ensure that project requirements are met.

• Familiarity with LTA standards and local building regulations for electrical and mechanical designs.
• Ability to interpret and revise technical drawings, schematics, and layouts.
Skills & Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of E&M systems, including electrical circuits, HVAC systems, and mechanical infrastructure.
• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and LTA design standards.
• Ability to coordinate between various project teams and ensure the smooth flow of design information.
• Proficiency in drafting tools and project management software to track progress and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Formal Education:
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Major Study/Specialist (Education):
• Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical disciplines.
Experience Required:
• 3–5 years of experience in drafting and coordinating electrical and mechanical systems, preferably in large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience working on LTA or other transportation-related projects is highly advantageous.
• Hands-on experience in using drafting software and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
